Over the last few years, many operators have heavily invested in upgrading or even building new river cruise ships. Most of the ships operate in Europe. ATP has gone the other way and has introduced the most luxurious river cruise ship to this date: the RV AmaMekong.
The RV AmaMekong is quite simply spectacular. It takes travelling on a river whether in Asia or Europe quite simply to another level. Guests who have been on a river cruise ship before will notice straight away that the RV AmaMekong offers a large amount of space per guest. With only 44 suits and a maximum of 88 guests per cruise, APT offers a highly personalised service. The design of the RV AmaMekong is very sophisticated and in parts a nod to the architecture of colonial times.
RV AmaMekong Review – The Suites
Each suite features an outdoor balcony and an indoor panoramic balcony allowing you to truly enjoy the lust landscapes of Vietnam and Cambodia. To make you even feel more at home, complimentary garment laundering is offered to all suits onboard.
RV AmaMekong Review – Public Area
As part of every river cruise, you will not want to spend your time on the ship entirely in your room. The RV AmaMekong offers a great public area which allows to mingle as much or as little with your fellow passengers. You will find very comfortable sun loungers on the sun deck. We highly recommend taking advantage of the cocktail service while enjoying the view from the sun deck. As with many river cruise ships, the RV AmaMekong features a pool, too. Unlike most operators though, APT made sure to have an indoor pool so that when temperatures are getting a bit hot, passengers can have a swim and cool down. There is also a bar and lounge area free of use.
RV AmaMekong Review – Butler Service
Guests staying in the Bayon Suites can look forward to the Silver Butler Service which includes shoe shining, booking of appointments, one spa treatment per person and per cruise and a daily fruit platter. Guests in Angkor Suites enjoy Gold Butler Service. In addition to the benefits provided by Silver Butler Service, Gold Butler Service also includes a packing and unpacking service, a bottle of French Champagne, pre-dinner canapes and tea and coffee service.
RV AmaMekong Review – Food & Drinks
APT’s Mekong River Cruises are all fully inclusive. Guests will be able to enjoy international house wine, local beer, local spirits and soft drinks at all times during your cruise. While each meal presents the chance to dine on exotic Asian fare, Western favourites are always available. Celebrity chef Luke Nguyen will prepare your Welcome Dinner which consists of a three-course Vietnamese welcome meal.
