Fly to Marseilles from one of up to 16 UK airports. If you’d prefer not to fly, why not take advantage of our No-fly option at no extra cost? Day 2 - Tarascon & Avignon
Tarascon has a distinctly medieval character and an impressive castle.
Freechoice Visit Les Baux, and drop into a local olive farm, or explore Saint-Rémy and the Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery. Alternatively, visit the wondrous Arles Arena on your tour of this once thriving Roman city.
Back on board, perhaps join a culinary lesson in Scenic Culinaire during your cruise into beautiful Avignon.
Day 3 - Avignon
Freechoice Shop with a chef at the local market before cooking up a storm in Scenic Culinaire, or explore Avignon’s architectural wonder, the Popes’ Palace. Alternatively, take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard, the impressive Roman aqueduct or sample the celebrated wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at a Côtes du Rhone vineyard.
This afternoon take some time to explore on your own.
Enrich After the doors close to the general public at Avignon’s prestigious Popes’ Palace, you’re invited for an exclusive concert where virtuoso musicians perform Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi.
Day 4 - Viviers
Freechoice This morning enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town of Viviers, nestled between hill and river, and visit the imposing Cathedral. Alternatively, drop into the beautiful provincial town of Grignan for a guided tour and a visit to the Château, before enjoying some time at leisure to explore on your own.
While cruising to Vienne this afternoon, perhaps join a class in Scenic Culinaire and allow your on board chef to sharpen your skills in French cookery. Learn how to make a delicious regional dish and of course enjoy a mouth watering taste afterwards.
Day 5 - Vienne
Freechoice Take a walking tour of Vienne including a visit to the Roman amphitheatre and uncover the fascinating history of this quaint riverside town, once conquered by Julius Caesar. Alternatively, for the more active, take in the picturesque landscapes of this region during a guided cycling tour.
Back on board, perhaps take a masterclass in French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire, or simply relax and view the beautiful vistas as you cruise to Mâcon.
Day 6 - Mâcon
Freechoice Travel to the ‘Golden Stone’ region of Beaujolais, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of the region’s delicious wines. Alternatively, explore charming Cluny, built around the great Benedictine Abbey or, visit Château de Cormatin, boasting beautiful gardens and 17th century architecture.
Day 7 - Lyon
Set on the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon is renowned as the gastronomic heart of France.
Freechoice Walk Lyon’s hidden traboules, then visit Notre Dame Basilica which offers fabulous views across the city. Alternatively, walk the cobblestone paths in the medieval hilltop town of Pérouges, or join a guided bike ride to Lyon’s Botanical Gardens and Zoo.
Day 8 - Lyon - Return Home
After breakfast, transfer to Lyon airport for your return journey home. Travel to one of up to 16 UK airports or by first class rail from Lyon to Paris Gare de Lyon, before Standard Premier Class aboard the Eurostar to St. Pancras International.

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing a twin cabin with a limited number of single cabins available on all decks, at the relevant supplement. The price includes full board from dinner on your day of arrival until breakfast on your final day; if you choose to travel with us on any of the full day excursions by coach, a packed lunch will be provided.
Anyone choosing to stay on the ship may of course have lunch in the restaurant; morning/afternoon tea and coffee; all visits and excursions as mentioned in the brochure, airport transfers, coach travel as mentioned, travel to and from port of embarkation and the services of a Scenic Travel Tour Manager.
