Day 2 - Arles, Avignon
FREEDOM OF CHOIC – Opt to tour the city and its Palace of the Popes, a nod to the city’s significance as the capital of the papacy in the 14th century. This grand complex symbolises the church’s strong influence on the western Christian world and has over 20 rooms open for public viewing.
Alternatively, if you do not feel like exploring this afternoon, you may wish to brush up on your French skills with a language lesson on board.
This morning, set out on a guided tour of Arles and its Roman ruins. This charming French town was once a thriving Roman metropolis, and its history can be seen in the surviving ancient monuments scattered throughout.
Later, cruise towards Avignon and enjoy a choice of experiences.
Day 3 - Tournon
FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ – You may choose take a ride on the Ardèche Steam Train, winding through the verdant Doux gorge. For wine lovers, a visit to the historic Maison M. Chapoutier winery for a tasting is on offer.
Otherwise, you can enjoy a guided bike ride with a stop at the Valrhona Chocolate Factory, a great experience for chocolate enthusiasts.
How you spend the day is up to you with a choice of activities.
Day 4 - Vienne, Lyon
Today, embark on a city tour of Vienne, a historic town that lies just south of Lyon. Here the rich collection of Roman and medieval buildings serve as a reminder of Vienne’s cultural heritage.
Or, if you’re feeling active, a hike up to Mount Pipet is in order, rewarding your efforts with magnificent views of the town below.

Later, set sail for Lyon. Upon arrival you can enjoy an orientation tour of the city and its main sites.
Day 5 - Lyon
FREEDOM OF CHOICE – Sightseeing Lyon is renowned as a culinary capital, and while exploring this old French city you will have the chance to discover its best gourmet delights on a culinary walking tour.
Alternatively, soak in the surrounds on a leisurely bike ride or take an excursion to the Beaujolais wine region, famed for its fruity reds.
SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE Tonight, dinner is served at the L’Abbaye de Collonges. Founded by acclaimed French chef, the late Paul Bocuse, this restaurant has gained legendary status and is sure to please your palate.
Day 6 - Tournus
Perhaps wander the narrow, picturesque streets of Tournus on a guided walking tour of the city, stopping at its famous Romanesque church, the Abbey of Saint Philibert. Otherwise, journey to Château de Cormatin.
This rustic-style château was built onwards from the early 17th century and is surrounded by wide moats. Enjoy a tour of the building and its grounds, which sprawl over ten hectares.

Day 7 - Chalon-Sue-Saone, Beaune
Explore Beaune, an ancient town encircled by medieval ramparts.
With its surrounding landscapes blanketed in grapevines, it comes as no surprise that Beaune is renowned for its production of fine Burgundy wines.
Day 8 - Charlon-Sur-Saone, Disembark Ship
Disembark your ship and transfer to the airport in Lyon for your return flight to the UK.
