With guided tours in Strasbourg & Cologne and a vist to the stunning castle in Cochem finishing off with a canal cruise in Amsterdam.
Fly from the UK to Basel. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your river ship.
Tonight, after enjoying some time to relax and settle in, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception onboard.
You will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow guests and meet your crew.
Day 2 - Breisach
Disembark in Breisach today and explore the famous Black Forest region. Travel by coach, past the sky-bound pine and birch trees blanketing the mountainsides, to the scenic village of Triberg. This place was once home to the inventor of Black Forest cherry cake, Josef Keller.
You will then have some time to enjoy at your leisure.
Afterwards, return to your river ship for dinner this evening.

Here you will be treated to a Black Forest cake demonstration, followed by a tasting of this decadent dessert.
Day 3 - Strasbourg
Arrive in Strasbourg, the Alsatian city that straddles the border between France and Germany. Fairy-tale houses mix with cobblestone streets and must-see canals, and Strasbourg Cathedral towers over the World Heritage-listed city centre.
Discover the picturesque sites on a guided tour and enjoy the pretty scenery.
You will have time to explore further at leisure afterwards. The romantic district known as Petite France is a wonderful place to roam, and if you’re feeling peckish, perhaps stop by a local bakery for a traditional bretzel.
Day 4 - Rhine Gorge, Rudesheim
Continue cruising to experience a true highlight of the holiday – cruising through the Rhine Gorge, considered by locals to be the most beautiful section of the Rhine River.
Watch in awe as steep slopes covered in vineyards and dotted with ancient castles drift past, before your ship docks in Rüdesheim, a Rhine Gorge wine town.
Here, the Winzerexpress mini-train will take you through the town to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Here you will find one of the most beautiful collections of automated musical instruments in Germany.
End your evening with a delicious dinner on board tonight.
Day 5 - Moselle River, Cochem
Sit back and soak up the scenery as you cruise through some of Europe’s prettiest stretches along the Moselle River.
Disembark in the pretty town of Cochem in the Moselle Valley.
Explore the narrow alleyways with their half-timbered houses and visit the magnificent Cochem Castle. Perched on a hill overlooking the beautiful Moselle River, this castle could be straight from the pages of a fairytale.
Day 6 - Cologne
Having entered Germany, arrive in Cologne and be met by the magnificent Cologne Cathedral on the bank of the Rhine.
You will disembark here, learning on a guided tour about the famous twin spires of this landmark cathedral, which took over six centuries to complete.
Day 7 - Amsterdam
With historic houses lining its banks and studded with low bridges, Amsterdam’s network of 17th-century canals lends the city its nickname – ‘The Venice of the North’.
Today you will board a glass-top boat and glide past the city’s waterside sights with a local guide. Back on land, enjoy some free time to explore the city at your leisure.
Later on tonight, enjoy a special Farewell Dinner on board.
Day 8 - Amsterdam, Disembark Ship
After breakfast, disembark and be transferred to Amsterdam airport for your flight to the UK.
Fly from the UK to Amsterdam. Be met on arrival in and transferred to your premium river ship. Perhaps take a stroll to discover all of the iconic sights.
On board tonight, meet your Cruise Director and fellow passengers during a Welcome Reception.
Day 2 - Amsterdam, Utrecht
Amsterdam’s network of 17th-century canals lends the city its nickname – ‘The Venice of the North’. Today you will board a glass-top boat and glide past the city’s waterside sights with a local guide.
Back on land, enjoy some free time to explore the city at leisure before travelling by coach to Utrecht, stopping at Rembrandt’s Windmill.
From here, your ship will set off along the Rhine, allowing you to enjoy a special Gala Dinner while you cruise.
Following dinner, the delights continue as Welsh singer Aled Jones hosts a ‘Meet and Greet’ session on board.
Head to the True North Lounge and get to know the legendary performer as he answers your questions.
Day 3 - Cologne

Day 8 - Disembark Ship, Depart Basel
After breakfast on board, disembark and be transferred to Zürich airport for your return flight to the UK.
