Day 2 - Budapest
Relics. Monuments. Fairytale castles and palaces. Healing thermal waters. It can only be Budapest – and we waste no time in exploring the best bits this morning on our guided tour of the city.
Then, perhaps hire a pedalo across the lake to Városliget Park for a wander through the enchanting castle gates and beyond.
Day 3 - Bratislava
Welcome to Slovakia. You might choose to join us on an excursion into Bratislava on the tourist train through the city. Wind through the charming old town and past the dominating Bratislava Castle (Hrad) – where 11 kings and 8 queens were crowned.
After, take a wander for yourself – the old town is the perfect walkable size.
Day 4 - Vienna
Good morning, Vienna. This magnificent city was home to a vast number of classical composers over the centuries – and for good reason. As you wander, the streets ooze opulence and charm at every turn.
Kick the day off with an introductory city tour to get your bearings and learn about the city’s history, then you’re free to make your own discoveries.
Don’t miss the opportunity to attend a concert this evening in one of the city’s impressive palaces. Relax and enjoy the uplifting melodies of Strauss or Mozart.
Day 5 - Durnstein Melk
Situated on an impossibly beautiful curve on the Danube river, Dürnstein may well be the town that has it all. Charming buildings.
A ruined hilltop castle. Stunning surrounding scenery. What’s more, it has a fascinating history: its grand castle walls once imprisoned Richard I of England – Richard the Lionheart. Stroll freely through the cobbled lanes, or perhaps opt for our orientation and wine tasting tour.
We sail to Melk and dock overnight.
Day 6 - Melk Linz
This morning we take a tour of Melk’s imposing Benedictine abbey. Originally a palace, it was presented to Benedictine monks who turned it into a fortified abbey with an extensive library of priceless volumes and a richly embellished Abbey Church, its grand dome decorated with elaborate frescoes by Johann Michael Rottmayr.
This afternoon we’ll sail towards Linz, where we’ll dock overnight.
Day 7 - Linz Passau
Spend your morning soaking up the elegance and creative buzz in Linz. Wander through the old town freely, or perhaps join our optional city tour. The city offers a delightful mix of modern and historic architecture, including Linzer Schloss.
For a better view of the city, perhaps take a ride on the Pöstlingbergbahn, a narrow-gauge railway that climbs up the steep incline of the Pöstlingberg hill to the north of the city.
Later, enjoy a relaxing afternoon cruising towards Passau.
Day 8 - Passau - Salzburg
We disembark this morning and enjoy a walking tour through the historic old town. We’ll then transfer to Salzburg, arriving early afternoon at our conveniently located hotel.
The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for you to explore.
Day 9 - Salzburg
On a tour this morning, we’ll explore the delights of Salzburg, the world-famous ‘City of Mozart’. The narrow lanes and broad squares of this baroque city have taken their deserved place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The remainder of the day is yours to do as you please. Popular attractions include the house where Mozart was born and spent the first 17 years of his life, the exuberant state rooms at the Residenz, and Festung Hohensalzburg, a mighty, 900-year-old fortress.
Day 10 - Salzburg - Munich - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
